Freelance Photographer

1992 - present

 

I have been doing various freelance projects in photography ever since my college days including photojournalism for a local paper, sports and competition photography, food and products, real estate, portraits, weddings, photo retouching, and photographing artwork.  I regularly submit photos to contests, show my personal work and have become involved in the Viewbug community.  I have also been a part of art organizations including the Artists Coalition of Flagstaff.  I was also an active member of several art non-profits from my days living in Maryland.

 

 

Photographer - Ritz Camera Centers, Beltsville, MD

1996-2003

 

 

My photographic work at Ritz was shooting products for Ritz and the companies they owned including Ritz Camera, Wolf Camera, Inkley's, Boater's World, and Outer Banks Outfitters.  This covered a wide range of subject matter: cameras and small electronics, clothing, fishing gear, boat parts, and more.  During my time there we went from shooting with film to using the first Nikon DSLR.  I photographed for a team of artists so I had to prioritize projects to meet deadlines and keep everyone busy.

When I wasn't taking pictures I was helping customers pick out the right cameras and related equipment for their use.  I spent much time learning and trying equipment to be an effective salesperson.  My honesty and concern that my customers got the product that was right for them earned me many repeat customers.
